Bona Fide OS Development is not dead.

by Brenden(aka xsism) | 5/22/09

It's been almost 2 years since anything has been updated here. All I could do in the mean time is keep the server online and renew the domain once a year(or forget about it and have it go down and then grab the domain back from DNS pergatory before it became a squat site). Well, 2 years is flippin' rediculous.

I haven't been talking to Cody at all; not in at least a year. I don't know where he went, but I do see him in gtalk every so often. Either way, I am taking ownership back. I already pay for hosting and the domain, so I'm going to start maintaining the content, too.

Why have I allowed Bona Fide OS Development to go stale?

I have been very busy. I recently got married. I moved back to Las Vegas from Texas last January. I've been working at a web application studio full-time. I have been pursuing my own entrepreneurial projects on the side of work and my social life. More details will be revealed about that later.

What will be done now?

A lot of content has gone bad over the last year with a server move and time passing. Many of the downloads are far too old to be useful for anything but an archive. I will most likely convert the site to wordpress so that it is easier to manage. I'd like to encourage other to write tutorials and editorials on the site and get the community active again. I will update as many files as possible to more relevant versions. I am also interested in making the website more usable.

Interesting...

Indeed. I'll be working on this site slowly, but surely over the next few weeks. I'm going to try to get the lines of communication back open to the community soon. Any help would be much appreciated

I have to give a plug here to Chase as www.osdev.org. He has done well with merging Mega Tokyo and other OS development resources and making it easily accessible to the commuunity.

I setup the contact form to go to my personal email. Follow the front page more updates to come soon.
